Designing a school for children

🌿 Designing a School That Children Love

20 to 22 Feb 2026

Inviting

Individuals, parents, teachers, activists, youth, unschoolers, seekers and volunteers — all those who wish to co-create a path-breaking alternative school for children.

About the Event

This gathering is a prelude to the school / learning center we plan to open in April 2026. Through this event, we hope to form:

  • A strong core team of facilitators and visionaries
  • A supportive network of mentors and well-wishers
  • A collective force to realize the vision of a school that children truly love

Event Theme Questions

  • Can there be a school that children love?
  • What should be the foundational principles or guiding light of any school?
  • Most schools today serve the industry, adults, society or nation — can we imagine a school centered on children’s well-being?

Questions We Choose to Rest (for Now)

We’ve chosen to set aside some fundamental debates for now — not to dismiss them, but to keep our focus on what can be built together at this stage. These will be revisited in time, once the groundwork is laid.

  • Do we really need schools?
  • In the modern, AI-driven world — do we need an entirely new, radical format of learning?
“Let us come together and start a tiny insignificant revolution.”

FAQs

What is the purpose of this gathering ?

The gathering is primarily a prelude to school that is opening at Sadhna Path in April 2026. We wish to use this gathering as a platform to launch our school through common dialogues, brainstorming and experience sharing. A small group comes together and design the school. We also hope to find some mentors, volunteers, teachers, team members through this gathering.

I may not be able to join you for long term, can I still be part of gathering ?

This event is primarily aimed for those who will be part of this school in some way , it need not be long term only , it could be part time, short term or some specific contributing role. However, we would discourage participation from those who only wish to be part of the discussion and are not interested in any further collaborations.

What is the fee ?

Most of our events embrace gift culture, where one can pay as one likes.

What happens if I wish to join the team ?

We have announced a fellowship (Pause Fellowship) which you can be part of. You can also join outside of fellowship. We would support you with basic food, accommodation and if needed, some minimum stipend.

What’s you inclination for schooling style ?

We are deeply influenced by the radical ideas of Ivan Ilich, Mahatma Gandhi, Osho, J Krisnamurti and Rudolf Steiner. In current times, we have been inspired primarily by works of Jinan KB at Existential knowledge foundation and to name some others Shikshantar movement, SIDH, KFI , SECMOL Laddakh, Arivu Mysore and few more such initiatives. We hope to take a balanced approach by adopting the best of all available resources and findings.
